Corey Lajoie Looking To Continue Career-Best Season At Charlotte
2 years ago"Steady improvement" could be the nickname for Corey Lajoie these days, as the driver of the #7 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports has quietly gotten better each and every year since joining the NASCAR Cup Series full time in 2019. This season, Lajoie is on pace for his best season ever--and by a pretty good margin. Through the first 13 races of this year, Lajoie is averaging a finish of 19.3, which is a full five positions better than his average finish last year (24.3). Recently, Lajoie was asked about his season and confidence, to which he replied, "I'm getting some more confidence. It's kind of like the chicken or the egg; you've got to have confidence to run good, but you also have to have fast cars to gain confidence. We're starting (to move) forward, and I'm happy with where we're at right now; we're going to continue to get better." He starts 25th for this weekend's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte.
