2 years agoLos Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp faces his divisional rival, the San Francisco 49ers, in Week 8. In his Week 4 matchup against the Niners, a 24-9 loss, he was being force fed the football and ended up with 14 catches for 122 yards. The Niners have had the Rams' number, beating them in four of the last five outings and limiting the Rams to just four passing touchdowns in the past three regular season matchups. While San Francisco's stingy scoring defense is bad for Kupp's TD potential, the rest about the matchup is good for him. If the 49ers shut down the Rams offense, quarterback Matthew Stafford will have to turn to the only man he can trust in Kupp. Kupp has proven matchup-proof and actually puts up more receptions in games in which his fellow receivers struggle to get open.
