2 years agoEdmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid erupted for a huge performance Friday against Seattle, logging his eighth career five-point game in a 7-2 win. He already had three assists within the first 10 minutes of the game and went on to add one more helper while also scoring the final goal of the contest. The Oilers captain has now matched his career-best point streak with a 17-game run. He has been posting silly numbers all season long and leads the scorer's table with 72 points in 37 games, holding a 15-point lead ahead of the rest of the pack. On Friday, McDavid also joined Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux as the only players in NHL history to have recorded consecutive calendar years with 140-plus regular-season points.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
