Commanders Trending Toward Firing Ron Rivera
12 months agoThe Washington Commanders are "trending toward" major personnel changes, which would include firing head coach Ron Rivera, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. This news isn't very surprising given that the Commanders have struggled during Rivera's four years at the helm. Over that span, Washington has zero winning seasons, one playoff berth, and a 26-38 record in the regular season. Plus, with a new ownership group in place, the time is right for the franchise to make a change. If Rivera is indeed fired, his replacement will be tasked with rebuilding an NFL bottom-feeder in one of the most difficult divisions. Key offseason questions would await the new coaching staff, including a glaring decision at quarterback given that Sam Howell, already benched twice this year, has thrown 19 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
