Colin Moran Lands On Injured List With Fractured Wrist
3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates placed first baseman Colin Moran (wrist) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a fractured wrist and recalled outfielder Jared Oliva from Triple-A Indianapolis in a corresponding move. Don't expect Moran to be back before the All-Star break with a small fracture in his wrist. The 28-year-old was useful in deep mixed leagues because of his .280 batting average and .345 on-base percentage as the Bucs first baseman, but he's lacking in the power department with just four home runs and 23 RBI in 49 games this season. Phillip Evans and Erik Gonzalez figure to split time at the cold corner in Pittsburgh until Moran is ready to return. Evans has disappointed with a .203 average after hitting .359 in 11 games in 2020. Evans and Gonzalez will have some short-term appeal in NL-only leagues.
