3 weeks agoLos Angeles Dodgers first baseman/outfielder Cody Bellinger was named the National League MVP for the 2019 season on Thursday night. He beat out Christian Yelich, the NL MVP in 2018. The 24-year-old Bellinger hit .305/.406/.629 with 47 home runs and 15 stolen bases in his breakout season, and he became the first Dodgers position player to win the MVP since Kirk Gibson in 1988. Bellinger also won the Gold Glove in right field. He became the first player in franchise history to win a Gold Glove, Silver Slugger and MVP in the same season. He also won the Rookie of the Year in 2017 before slumping in 2018. Bellinger put himself back on the map in a big way in 2019. He'll be a force for years to come.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
