Coby White Expected To Play On Friday

Chicago Bulls guard Coby White (knee) had an MRI after suffering a left knee contusion in the preseason opener versus the New Orleans Pelicans. Fortunately, he didn't sustain any damage, so he will be good to go for Friday's meeting with Denver. The 22-year-old has played three seasons in Chicago since being drafted in 2019. He's averaged 13.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assists during that span, although he hasn't established a consistent role in the rotation. While Lonzo Ball (knee) won't be ready to start the regular season, White isn't expected to benefit, primarily since Ayo Dosunmu has emerged as the favorite to hold things down until Ball can return. The addition of Goran Dragic in the offseason also won't help him see the floor. Nonetheless, White was surrounded by trade rumblings during the offseason. However, a move may be good for the former Tar Heel, especially if he can carve out routine minutes with another club. For now, he's not worth much for fantasy managers outside of dynasty formats.
