Clayton Kershaw Needs Walking Boot, More Tests
1 month agoLos Angeles Dodgers left-hander Clayton Kershaw (toe) will require a walking boot and also probably needs more tests on his injured left big toe, according to manager Dave Roberts. Kershaw is dealing with a bone spur in his left big toe and was placed on the 15-day injured list on Saturday, although he was able to play catch before Sunday's contest at Chase Field against the division-rival Arizona Diamondbacks. The 36-year-old southpaw is eligible to come off the IL on Sept. 15, but there's currently no timetable for his return, and fantasy managers should probably expect his absence to extend beyond that date if he needs a walking boot. With time running out in the final month of the 2024 regular season, the Dodgers will just be hoping that Kershaw might be able to help them for what they are expecting to be a deep playoff run in October.
