Christian McCaffrey Gains 60 Yards In Limited Role
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers newly-acquired running back Christian McCaffrey gained 60 yards from scrimmage on 10 touches in the Niners' 23-44 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. McCaffrey carried the ball eight times for 38 yards and caught two passes for 24 yards. The 26-year-old was dynamic with the ball in his hands. He worked upfield and changed directions with ease just like we've come to expect of him for years. Niners coach Kyle Shanahan signaled he was going to ease McCaffrey into the starting lineup in his first week (just three days, really) with the team, and that's what he did. Fellow 49ers RB Jeff Wilson Jr. was on the field for four more snaps than McCaffrey was, but McCaffrey had one more carry and one more target than Wilson. You can expect McCaffrey to see a larger majority of the work in Week 8 against the Los Angeles Rams.
