2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (knee) is a must-start if he plays in Week 13 against the Miami Dolphins. McCaffrey did not practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. It appears the 49ers are limiting him in order to rest his knee. He is likely to play. His volume had been limited in the past two games, but Elijah Mitchell (knee) is now injured and will miss multiple weeks, so there could be less competition for McCaffrey. Rookie RB Jordan Mason could see some carries, but he is unproven. McCaffrey is such an elite dual-threat playmaker that he can put up big numbers, even on limited volume and even if battling injury.
