Christian Encarnacion-Strand Moved To 60-Day Injured List
6 months agoThe Cincinnati Reds transferred infielder Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) to the 60-day injured list on Monday and selected the contract of right-hander Brooks Kriske from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Encarnacion-Strand is dealing with a right ulnar styloid fracture in his wrist and has been on the injured list since May 8. The 24-year-old isn't expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment anytime soon and has reportedly been considering having season-ending surgery to fix ligament damage. His rehab process was put on hold earlier this month after he sought a second opinion on his injury. Fantasy managers that have been stashing the power-hitting corner infielder should have a better idea later this week as to whether he'll have a shot to return in the second half of the season. CES was hitting just .190 (22-for-116) with two homers and 16 RBI at the time of his injury.
