Chris Owings Is Terrible So Far
6 years agoKansas City Royals second baseman/outfielder Chris Owings wasn't expected to be a world-beater, but his performance so far has been amazingly bad. After going 1-for-4 in Sunday's game against the Angels, Owings is now hitting .163 on the season. He's striking out 32% of the time, his OPS is just .513, and he has the sixth-worst wRC+ in the entire league. It feels like this is manager Ned Yost's throwback player, as he famously ran Alcides Escobar and Omar Infante out there every day even though they were atrocious players. Fantasy owners just need to ensure that they're not running their lineup like Yost and keeping Owings around in hopes of something better.
