Chase Elliott Drives From The Back To Finish Second
2 years agoChase Elliott saw his Daytona 500 cut short on a wreck on Lap 117, a wreck that placed him at the back of the pack in the 33rd position for the Pala Casino 400. This did not deter Elliott from flexing his muscle at Auto Club Speedway. By the end of Stage 1, Elliott had made his way to 10th and was up to seventh at the end of Stage 2. He was able to maintain a top-10 running position and moved past the driver that had led the most laps on the day in Ross Chastain to capture second place -- 2.998 seconds behind race-winner Kyle Busch. The second-place finish was his best at Auto Club, and Elliott commented after the race that his team "still have some work to do."
