Chase Briscoe Must Not Be Underestimated At Martinsville
8 months agoStewart-Haas Racing driver Chase Briscoe qualified fifth for this week's Cook Out 400 at Martinsville Speedway. This marks his fourth consecutive top-5 starting position at Martinsville and his highest overall for 2024 so far. Martinsville is one of Briscoe's best tracks statistically, as he has four top-10 finishes in six Cup starts at the site, including top-5 finishes in both of last year's races. After seven races so far this season, Briscoe has four top-15 finishes, including Phoenix and Bristol, the former of which uses the same rules package as Martinsville this week. Briscoe was one of the fastest drivers in practice, as he ranked first in 20 consecutive lap averages and overall lap averages. With his starting position close to the front, Briscoe does not offer much place differential upside this week for DFS. Considering his recent Martinsville history and equipment through pre-race events, however, Briscoe makes for a tournament play that fantasy players must not underestimate this week.
