Chase Briscoe was right around 1.6 seconds off the top qualifying times on Saturday at COTA. The one consistent aspect was that Briscoe kept that deficit from practice to qualifying. As a result, the Stewart-Haas Racing driver will start 19th on Sunday. The No. 14 Ford did not lose a ton of time in one particular spot. Briscoe just seemed to bleed time going from sector to sector. Jenson Button was a mere 0.16 seconds behind Briscoe which speaks to the lack of speed. Briscoe faces an uphill battle on longer runs Sunday, but since he only ran nine laps, that remains an unknown. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
