Charlie Blackmon Out Against A Right-Hander
5 months agoColorado Rockies outfielder Charlie Blackmon remains out of the team's starting lineup on Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds on the road, this time against a right-handed pitcher in Frankie Montas. Blackmon was out on Tuesday against left-hander Nick Lodolo and will miss his second straight game. There's been no word of an injury for the 38-year-old veteran, but we'll keep a close eye on the situation. Brenton Doyle, who had two homers in Tuesday night's loss, will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth, while Sam Hilliard starts in center field and hits in the nine-hole for the Rockies. Perhaps the Rockies are just giving Blackmon a little more rest with the All-Star break looming next week. Since June 18, he's gone 6-for-32 (.188) with a homer, two doubles, three RBI and nine strikeouts in 10 games played.
