5 years agoColorado Rockies star outfielder Charlie Blackmon was sidelined on Monday after suffering back spasms during his workout on Sunday. Blackmon originally missed Sunday's game for a day of rest but pinch-hit in the eighth inning of the contest. Manager Bud Black then told reporters on Monday that Blackmon's back had "locked up" during his workout Sunday, and everyone's fingers were crossed that Blackmon wouldn't have to make a trip to the Injured List. The 32-year-old has played 143 or more games for the past five straight seasons, ever since he broke through at the major league level, so hopefully this is just a small hitch and he'll be able to avoid a lengthy IL stint.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
