CC Sabathia Labors In Kansas City Defeat

The New York Yankees finally got in a full game on Friday, their first in five days, as they were defeated by the Royals in Kansas City. On the mound was veteran left-hander CC Sabathia, who was not helped by his defense. While he walked four batters, a dropped ball in shallow center and an error resulted in two unearned runs. In all, he went five innings, allowing a pair of earned runs on four hits and four walks. He did strike out five batters, however, maintaining his ERA at a solid 2.40 ERA on the season. Barring any further inclement weather and subsequent postponed games, his next start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Rangers.
