4 years agoColorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar registered a power-play goal and added a primary assist as his team picked up a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night. The 22-year-old filled the scoresheet in this one - also posting a plus-two rating, four shots on goal and one hit in 24:49 of ice time in the win. If not for missing 12 games due to injury earlier in the season, Makar could be considered a legitimate front-runner to take home the Norris Trophy as the league's top defenseman in 2020-2021. In his second NHL season, Makar checks in over a point-per-game (43 points in 41 games) to go along with a a plus-13 rating, 22 power-play points and 101 shots on goal. There are few blueliners that can provide offense at the rate that he does and he'll look to keep adding to his totals when the Avs take on Vegas on Monday.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
