Byron Buxton Being Held Out Again On Wednesday
4 months agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton (hip) remains out of the starting lineup again for Wednesday's series finale against the visiting division-rival Kansas City Royals at Target Field. Buxton will now miss his second straight game after leaving Monday's series opener with right-hip discomfort. The good news is that an MRI exam on the 30-year-old oft-injured outfielder came back negative on Tuesday, and he's considered day-to-day. With another day to rest on Wednesday, perhaps we'll see him back in the lineup for Thursday's series opener in Texas against the Rangers. Austin Martin is starting in center field and is batting ninth in Buxton's place on Wednesday versus Royals left-hander Cole Ragans. Fantasy managers playing DFS should be able to find better outfielder sleepers than Martin. UPDATE: Manager Rocco Baldelli didn't rule out a potential injured-list stint for Buxton. "There was some good news on the MRI actually. Symptomatically, though, I'd say he could feel better," Baldelli said.
