Bucs Not Getting Hopes Up With Chris Godwin

Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said "we're not getting our hopes up" with wide receiver Chris Godwin (knee). Bowles said that Godwin is a long way from returning to a full practice routine. Godwin returned to training camp practice on Friday for the first time since having surgery for a torn ACL. The 26-year-old was only doing some straight-line running and individual drills on Friday, easing his way back in. There's a chance that he'll be ready for the Week 1 regular season opener, but that's not guaranteed at this point, and Tampa won't rush him back. The presence of Russell Gage and Julio Jones will allow the team to be more conservative. Right now, Godwin is a WR3 selection in fantasy drafts with clear upside for more if he's ready to go by Week 1.
