Buccaneers Request To Interview Jim Bob Cooter
2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers requested permission to interview Jacksonville Jaguars passing-game coordinator Jim Bob Cooter for their offensive coordinator job, according to sources. The veteran coach helped the Jaguars rank 10th in passing offense in 2022 with second-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The 38-year-old spent the previous three seasons as the Detroit Lions' offensive coordinator, and he's also coached with the Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles. The Bucs are looking for someone to run their offense in 2023 after firing previous offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich. Whoever gets the job in Tampa could be working without Tom Brady, who is expected to leave in free agency or retire.
