Buccaneers Officially Release Cameron Brate
2 years agoThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers are officially releasing tight end Cameron Brate on Friday. Brate's release has been expected all offseason as the Buccaneers look to get under the 2023 salary cap. The 31-year-old had an extremely disappointing 2022 campaign in his ninth and final season with the team. In 11 games (only one start), he caught just 20 of his 38 passes from now-retired quarterback Tom Brady for 174 yards and no touchdowns, the first time he was unable to find the end zone since his rookie season in 2014. With Brate now gone in Tampa, Cade Otton figures to have some low-end TE1 fantasy value as the team's primary pass-catching tight end in 2023, although Ko Kieft could also factor in.
