The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are giving pass-rusher Shaq Barrett a four-year deal worth up to $72 million on Monday, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. The deal includes $36 million fully guaranteed. The Buccaneers elected not to use their franchise tag on Barrett this year, but he will return nonetheless. He broke out in 2019 with a league-leading 19.5 sacks as a first-time Pro Bowler and followed it up with eight sacks in 15 games during the regular season in 2020. Barrett recorded four sacks in the NFC Championship game and the Super Bowl. His new deal pays him a base salary of $17 million per year, with escalators that can get him to $18 million per year based on 15 sacks and making the playoffs. He'll have a 2021 salary cap hit of just $5.6 million, and his new deal places him just outside of the top four highest-paid edge rushers in the NFL at an average annual value of $18 million.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
