Bryan Woo Injures His Leg On Monday
6 months agoSeattle Mariners right-hander Bryan Woo (leg) was forced from his start early on Monday against the hosting Tampa Bay Rays after three innings pitched with an apparent right-leg injury. Woo was removed in the bottom of the fourth inning after allowing one earned run on five hits while walking none and striking out three in three innings of work. Fantasy managers will want to check back later on to see exactly what the 24-year-old is dealing with. Woo has pitched well this year, as he entered Monday's start with a miniscule 1.67 ERA (2.83 FIP) and 0.61 WHIP with 25 strikeouts and only three walks in 37 2/3 innings in his seven starts in his second year in the big leagues. However, he got a late start to the season due to injury and just hasn't been able to stay healthy. Woo looked pretty upset when leaving on Monday, so this could be an injury that forces him to the injured list. UPDATE: Woo is dealing with right-hamstring tightness and will undergo an MRI exam on Tuesday. The M's are unsure if he'll need to go on the injured list.
