Broncos Defense A Borderline Starting Option In Week 3
2 years agoThe Denver Broncos defense has allowed just 26 points (third-fewest in the NFL) through the first two weeks, albeit against below-average offenses of the Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans. In Week 3 on Sunday night they'll be going against a San Francisco 49ers offense that has scored only 18.5 points per game, and they're now turning to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo with Trey Lance (ankle) out for the year. The Niners offense might actually be more efficient under Jimmy G, though, and the Broncos D has struggled to turn the ball over so far with only one takeaway in two games. They've also recorded just five sacks. Against a QB that normally takes care of the football, Denver's defense/special teams is a borderline starting unit in 12-team leagues this week.
