Brock Purdy Exceeds 300 Yards, Scores Four Touchdowns In Win
2 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy completed 18-of-30 passes for 332 yards and three touchdowns in the Niners' 41-23 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card Round. The rookie sensation also ran for a touchdown and gained 16 rushing yards on four carries. Purdy threw his first touchdown pass to Christian McCaffrey in the first quarter, but the Niners did not score another touchdown in the first half, and the Seahawks went into halftime with a 17-16 lead. The Niners piled in on in the second half, scoring touchdowns on their first three possessions, starting with a 75-yard drive that lasted longer than seven minutes and culminated in a one-yard Purdy touchdown run. Purdy threw touchdown passes on the next two drives to Elijah Mitchell and Deebo Samuel. The 23-year-old could have had a fourth passing touchdown if Brandon Aiyuk had held onto a strike in the corner of the end zone of San Fran's last full drive. The Niners' dominant offensive performance and ability to turn it on at any moment bode well for Purdy's prospects in future rounds of the playoffs.
