Brett Baty To Be Called Up Wednesday
Brett Baty ahead of Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Braves. The team recently lost primary third baseman Luis Guillorme (groin) to a groin injury and he is expected to miss three to four weeks. Meanwhile, the team's backup third baseman Eduardo Escobar (oblique) is dealing with an oblique injury and may require a stint on the injured list as well. Baty is ranked as the Mets' No. 2 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline. The 22-year-old has spent the bulk of the 2022 season at Double-A, where he slashed .312/.406/.544 with 19 home runs, 59 RBI and 73 runs. He was promoted to Triple-A about a week ago. He's not a high priority add for fantasy managers in season-long leagues but he's very much worth keeping an eye on.
