Brenton Doyle Goes Deep Twice In Losing Effort
Brenton Doyle did his best to carry the offense on Tuesday on the road against the Cincinnati Reds, but it wasn't enough in a 12-6 loss. Doyle finished the game 3-for-4 with two solo home runs and a walk. His other hit was a double. The 26-year-old didn't look too great last month, but he has seriously turned things around so far in July, going 15-for-27 with six home runs, five doubles, 11 RBI, six walks, a stolen base and seven runs scored in eight games to raise his season slash line to .279/.346/.467 with an .812 OPS in his second year in the big leagues. He's added a career-high 13 home runs, 16 doubles and 20 stolen bases in 87 games, making him a must-roster player in all fantasy leagues despite playing for the last-place Rockies. If Doyle can stay healthy in the second half of the season, he has a real shot at 30 homers and 30 steals.
