San Jose Sharks defenseman Brent Burns recorded an assist during Saturday night's loss, giving him 61 assists and 74 points on the season. Burns is now just two points shy of matching a career high in points. The former forward is more well known for his goal-scoring prowess, but a career-best assist mark and a drop in shot production, down to 3.65 shots per game from 3.95 shots per game over the last two seasons, have indicated a slight shift in play style from Burns. The days of 20 or more goal campaigns seem to be behind him, but the highest assist total of all defenseman this year has been left in its place. In fact, Burns is the only defenseman in the top 10 of assists totals this season. The goals may be down, but Burns still has a surplus of fantasy value.--Russ Ivanac - RotoBaller
