Brendan Rodgers Has Season-Ending Surgery

Colorado Rockies shortstop prospect Brendan Rodgers (shoulder) underwent season-ending surgery on the labrum of his right shoulder on Tuesday. This is a pretty big development, as Rodgers is the team's top prospect and No. 6 overall, per MLB Pipeline. There's a chance the 22-year-old might not be ready for the start of next season, too, depending on his recovery. Rodgers' MLB debut was highly anticipated, but it didn't live up to the hype as he hit just .224/.272/.250 with no homers, eight runs and seven RBI in 76 at-bats over 25 games. He still has a ton of fantasy upside but might need to shift to second base in Colorado with Trevor Story entrenched at the 6. He remains worthy of stashing in dynasty leagues.
