7 months agoBoston Red Sox relief pitcher Brandon Workman struck two of the three batters he faced en route to his seventh save of the season in Thursday's 3-0 win over the Angels. He's off to a good start in August, posting four consecutive scoreless outings, while notching two saves and a 5/0 K/BB. Workman seems to have also secured the full-time closer role for the Red Sox, after lackluster performances from Matt Barnes and Ryan Brasier all season. Workman carries a 1.92 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 71 K in 51 2/3 innings. Expect these opportunities to keep coming, so long as he continues to get the job done, so pick him up before someone else does.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
