2 years agoSt. Louis Blues left wing Brandon Saad potted two goals as the team beat Toronto 6-5 in a shootout Tuesday. He started the scoring in a short-handed situation and pushed the team's lead to 5-3 before the Maple Leafs struck back and found a way to extend the game. This was a huge effort from the Blues a day after Vladimir Tarasenko (hand) and Ryan O'Reilly (foot) were ruled out for multiple weeks. With two big parts of the offense missing, Saad will have a bigger role to play and Tuesday was a great start for him on the second line. He skated with Ivan Barbashev and Brayden Schenn, with the latter also finishing with two points. Saad has only 10 goals and 13 points in 31 games for the season, but his productivity should improve in the upcoming weeks.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
