4 years agoLos Angeles Angels outfielder Brandon Marsh is one of the Angels top prospects, and despite failing to reach triple-A yet, he could be a key component in the team's lineup this season. After recently being optioned to the minors, Marsh won't start the season in the majors but he was added to the 40-man roster this winter and is on the verge of reaching the majors in a full-time role especially after impressing the club at the alternate training site in 2020. The ongoing decline of Justin Upton does leave the Angels light in the outfield, and Marsh has hit at every level that he's played at. In 2019 at the Double-A level, Marsh played 92 games and had a .300/.383/.428 slash line with seven homers and 18 steals. That form continued into the Arizona Fall League, where Marsh hit .328/.387/.522 with two homers and four steals in 19 games. Marsh's defense is such that he can play any of the three outfield spots with an above-average arm and speed that translates into steals. Marsh can help with steals while hitting for a good average if he can translate his minor league prowess to the next level. He has a bit of power and should contribute runs and RBI wherever he lines up in the batting order. Currently with an ADP of 546, Marsh is a late-round speculative addition in deep redraft leagues, but he could be a difference-maker if/when he gets called up and the shoulder issue that slowed him down during the spring is fully healed.--Jamie Steed - RotoBaller
