1 year agoThe Toronto Blue Jays activated first baseman Brandon Belt (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list on Wednesday and optioned first baseman Spencer Horwitz to Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move. Belt will serve as the designated hitter and bat third in the order in his return on Wednesday against Miami Marlins right-hander Sandy Alcantara. The 35-year-old left-handed slugger missed the minimum time on the 10-day IL. He will return to a .263/.378/.434 slash line with an .812 OPS, four home runs, 14 doubles, 16 RBI and 18 runs scored in 180 trips to the plate over 48 games in his first year in Toronto. The power has been lacking, but Belt has been solid for fantasy managers in on-base-percentage leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
