With the 18th pick in the 2018 MLB Amateur draft, the Kansas City Royals selected 21-year-old right-handed pitcher Brady Singer out of Florida University as a junior. Standing at 6-foot-5 and 180 pounds, Singer was projected to be the second overall pick in the draft by MLB.com, so this comes off as a potential steal for the Royals in the midst of a rebuild. Singer holds scouting grades of a 65 fastball, 60 slider, 55 changeup and 55 control and has already pitched proficiently at the college level. The Royals rank 29th on MiLB's Pitcher Farm System Rankings and rank 29th overall as well, so Singer makes for a perfect building block in the Royals system. Being in quite the weak prospect pool, Singer has almost no competition prospect-wise and could rise quickly through the minor leagues.--CadenRead More News
