2 years agoWashington Capitals goaltender Braden Holtby will get the starting nod Friday night as the Caps take on the visiting Carolina Hurricanes. Holtby looked good in his last start, as he stopped 35 shots in a 3-2 win over the New York Rangers on Wednesday. Philipp Grubauer sat the last game with an undisclosed injury but appears healthy enough to serve as Holtby's backup. The 28-year-old Canadian has two years remaining on a $30.5 million contract, so management will give him every opportunity to take the starting job back.--Barry Miles
