Bo Bichette Still Out Of The Lineup On Monday
6 months agoToronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette (calf) remains out of the starting lineup for the third straight game for Monday's series opener against the visiting Boston Red Sox. Bichette is dealing with a right-calf injury that isn't believed to be serious, but the Jays aren't rushing the struggling shortstop back into the fold. The 26-year-old All-Star felt better, so perhaps he'll be able to return to the lineup for the second game of the series on Tuesday. The underlying numbers show that Bichette has been a bit unlucky so far in 2024, but his fantasy managers haven't been happy with his .237/.286/.342 slash line on the year with only four home runs, 28 RBI, four stolen bases and 22 runs scored in his 257 at-bats. Isiah Kiner-Falefa is making another start at the 6 on Monday and is batting seventh against Red Sox right-hander Nick Pivetta. UPDATE: Bichette is "doing more hitting, baseruning, agility stuff to kind of see where he's at with his calf," manager John Schneider said. Depending on how that goes, Bichette could be available off the bench on Monday.
