1 year agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher J.A. Happ is one of the bigger names left on the trade market, and it seems his team wanted some big prospects in return for him. According to Jon Heyman, the Jays — while in talks with the New York Yankees — originally wanted either starting pitcher Justus Sheffield or outfielder Clint Frazier in a potential trade package for Happ — or even both. The Yankees reportedly saw the price as too high, and have expressed hesitance at parting with their premier prospects in all their trade talks this season. Frazier has struggled with injury but has proven to be productive in the majors, while Sheffield is seen as a future top-of-the-rotation starter. Talks are still continuing between the two ball clubs, and it will be interesting to see who the Yankees are willing to part with if a trade is completed.--Mo Castillo - RotoBaller
