Blue Jays Have Legitimate Interest In Jake Odorizzi
The Toronto Blue Jays met with the representatives for starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi on Tuesday, and they will have legitimate interest in the right-hander if he rejects the $17.8 million qualifying offer from the Twins. Odorizzi was very solid for fantasy owners in 2019, going 15-7 with a 3.51 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 178 strikeouts in 159 innings over his 30 starts for the Twinkies. His 10.1 K/9 was a career high. Moving to hitter-friendly Toronto and the fearsome American League East division would lower his fantasy appeal heading into the 2020 season, though.
