Billy Hamilton To Hit Exclusively From Right Side Upon Return
3 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Billy Hamilton (oblique), who is a switch-hitter, will likely bat exclusively right-handed when he returns from the injured list, according to manager Tony La Russa. Hamilton landed on the injured list three weeks ago with a right oblique strain. There remains no timetable for his return. The 30-year-old speedster is only worth owning in much deeper leagues because of his speed. He was hitting just .217/.247/.406 with two home runs, 10 RBI and five stolen bases at the time of his injury. In his career, Hamilton is slashing .224/.270/.334 versus left-handed pitchers from the right side of the plate. He's been better in his career from the left side, so Hamilton will become even less interesting from a fantasy perspective. Brian Goodwin has been starting regularly in center field for the Pale Hose with Hamilton sidelined.
