Ben Rice Making Most Of Promotion To Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
6 months agoNew York Yankees catcher/first base prospect Ben Rice wasted little time making an impact following his promotion to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 25-year-old hit a home run in each of his first three games with the RailRiders. He has a hit in six of his first seven games with the Triple-A club and multi-hit efforts in five of those games. The Dartmouth product is red-hot out of the gates at a new level. He is the No. 12 overall prospect in the Yankees' system. So far, he has split time at catcher and first base at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. His position versatility and power-speed potential (15 homers and nine steals between two levels this season) make him an intriguing prospect. The catcher landscape in fantasy can be a bit barren sometimes, and Rice's bat looks like it could play if given an opportunity.
