Ben Rice 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Plenty of Hype Makes Him a Pricey Target
When it comes to 2026 fantasy baseball drafts, Ben Rice has become everyone's favorite target. The 27-year-old will be the Yankees' starting first baseman this season and is coming off a 26-homer season in 530 plate appearances last season with a .255/.337/.499 slash line. But those surface stats aren't the reason why Rice is so popular right now. If you take a stroll over to his Baseball Savant page, you'll see that Rice ranked in the top-10% of hitters last season in xBA, xSLG, xwOBA, AVG EV, Hard-Hit rate, barrel rate, Sweet-Spot rate, and chase rate. On top of that, Rice had better than league-average marks with his walk, strikeout, and contact rates as well. The hype has pushed Rice's ADP to around the Top-50 range overall, but it's a price worth paying to secure Rice as your catcher or first baseman in 2026. We could be looking at a Top-25 overall pick in 2027 drafts.
