3 years agoCleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield (shoulder) looked good on short and intermediate routes again in practice on Thursday and is making progress towards starting in Week 8 against the division-rival Pittsburgh Steelers. Mayfield missed last Thursday's win over the Denver Broncos with a fully torn labrum and fractured humerus bone in his left, non-throwing shoulder. He's hoping to put off surgery until after the season, but that will depend on if he can avoid any more big hits that could dislocate his shoulder again and cause further damage. Mayfield is trending towards a return this weekend, but he'll be just a low-end QB2 if that happens, as he's thrown for only six touchdowns and 1,474 yards in six games played in 2021.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
