6 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler was the spark the Chargers needed on Sunday. Ekeler jump-started the offense when he snagged a 44-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter that allowed the team to never look back in their win over the Raiders. Like starter Melvin Gordon, Ekeler wasn't very effective on the ground against Oakland, logging just 15 yards on six carries, but his one catch proved to be monumental for the team. Ekeler may not get the gaudy numbers, and management has shown that they'd rather run Gordon 20 times at 3 YPC than Ekeler 15 times when he racks up better runs, but Ekeler will get a few opportunities every game and has a knack for really making them count.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
