6 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler was prepared to step into the lead role if starter Melvin Gordon was unable to play against Seattle on Sunday, but instead, he ended up being nothing more than a distraction. Gordon played with abandon, and Ekeler only ended up carrying the ball three times and snagging one reception out of the backfield. Expect Ekeler's use to continue to be minimal unless Gordon's balky hamstring acts up again. The coaching staff has made it clear that while Ekeler is a valuable weapon, they're going to ride Gordon to the promised land.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
