Austin Ekeler Could Be In For Tough Week
Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler is likely going to be the primary back while running back Melvin Gordon remains out, but that may not be a great thing. Ekeler is expected to share carries with Justin Jackson, but when Gordon was hurt last season, the pair struggled a bit. Ekeler has found the most success as a change-of-pace back so far, and without a bruiser like Gordon, he doesn't seem to be able to break free as often. His pass-catching abilities mean he's always a threat for a huge play, but when Gordon was out last year, the duo only averaged 84 YPG. Obviously, he should be played if he's available because he could have a huge game. This could be a real trendsetter for the season either way though.
