Astros To Monitor Yordan Alvarez's Hand Going Forward
2 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez (hand) was held out of Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners as a precaution. The 25-year-old is dealing with right hand soreness, which is related to the right hand inflammation that caused him to miss a few weeks until his recent return. On Sunday, Astros manager Dusty Baker stated that the Astros will have to monitor Alvarez's hand throughout the season, meaning he'll get some off days here and there going forward. While this is concerning news on multiple fronts -- most notably the fact that his hand is not yet 100% -- fantasy managers should resist panicking about the news. Alvarez has homered twice since his return from the injured list so he should continue to rake while he deals with the injury. Hopefully, some extra rest days will allow him to be fully healthy for the final stretch of the season.
