Anthony Volpe Expected To Start At Triple-A
2 years agoNew York Yankees shortstop prospect Anthony Volpe will likely start the year at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre after only getting 89 at-bats at Triple-A in 2022 while hitting only .236. The Yankees have high expectations for both Volpe and Oswald Peraza, who is considered the favorite to win the shortstop job over Isiah Kiner-Falefa in spring training. The 21-year-old Volpe will also get a chance to shine in big-league camp this spring, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to make his major-league debut until later in the year. Between Double-A and Triple-A last year, Volpe had a strong .802 OPS with 21 home runs and 50 stolen bases in 132 games, so he has a bright future. Fantasy managers in dynasty/keeper leagues should already be very familiar with his name.
