Anthony Santander Receives PRP Injection
Anthony Santander (shoulder) received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his injured left shoulder and will take five to seven days off before throwing and ramping up, according to The Athletic's Mitch Bannon. Santander is currently on the 10-day injured list and probably won't be able to return when he's eligible if he's shut down for around a week. However, barring a setback when he resumes baseball activities, it's possible he could be back in Toronto before the end of June, even if he goes on a minor-league rehab assignment. Considering all the money the Jays gave the 30-year-old switch-hitter in free agency, they probably won't be rushing him back before he's ready. With Daulton Varsho also on the IL, Addison Barger, Nathan Lukes and Myles Straw should see more playing time in the outfield for Toronto.
